Cat and Gordon - Bibb Mill Wedding

Cat and Gordon – Bibb Mill Wedding

Earlier this month, we were Colubmus bound for The Bibb Mill Event Center, which sits right on the banks of the Chattahoochee River for Cat + Gordon’s “Steel Magnolias” inspired wedding! Cat explained early on, that the theme for their day circled around one of her favorite childhood movies! And let me just tell you guys, The Bibb Mill Event Center did not disappoint!! It provided the most perfect backdrop with greenery that climbed the weathered brick walls, black rod-iron gates, lush gardens and trees covered in flowing Spanish Moss that absolutely LIT UP at sunset!

S W O O N – W O R T H Y, I tell ya!

We began our day capturing all of the pretty little details (as we often do)! My assistant and I split up to maximize our time for pre-ceremony photos and while HMU were finishing up! There was a gala right next to the reception space that provided the perfect lighting and backdrop for guys getting ready photos! It was complete with pine wood flooring, exposed weathered brick and floor to ceiling windows!! GIVE ME ALLL THE NATURAL LIGHT!! We were able to squeeze in first looks with her gals and her dad as well as some bridal portraits before heading to the church!
The Greater Beallwood Baptist Church made for a beautiful and timeless ceremony space! The walls were light and bright and so the images from that portion of their day really POP! Another feature that I loved about the church, was that there was a second level that enabled us to get a bird’s eye view and some pretty creative angles!! Cat + Gordon literally looked like celebrities walking down the aisle together at the end of the ceremony!! It made me wish there were options to shoot from that high above at every venue!!!

After the ceremony we grabbed some quick group shots at the church and met everyone back at The Bibb Mill for family, wedding party and bride and groom sunset portraits!! Family means a lot to Cat and Gordon and both have large families! Because of that she opted to have several large family group photos so that we could really use the rest of the time for couples portraits while we had all that gorgeous glowy lighting!! Remember the Spanish Moss I mentioned earlier??? It was AHHHmazing. I showed Cat the back of my camera as we were wrapping up and she started to cry…which about had me in tears too!!

The reception was a blast!! Seriously one of the most fun receptions I’ve documented to-date with the best playlist! You could really feel the love that surrounded Cat + Gordon! It was the most perfect day for the most deserving couple!!

Cat and Gordon met on a camping trip through a mutual friend in October of 2017! Then in the Spring of 2019, Gordon proposed to Cat on May 15th (his birthday—HOW SWEET IS THAT?!!) Cat works in infectious disease but is also a trained Doula. Gordon serves in the military. Both love serving others!!

And in closing to my bride + groom, I wish you nothing but the best in life and in love!! I hope that you love all your images as much as I loved capturing them! Thank you so much for choosing Blush & Bonnet Co.!
W I T H  L O V E,
Whitney
